Young Irish Film Makers
is a film training and production company set up in 1991 to help young people aged 13 to 20 make digital feature films.

In 1998 we made our first feature Under the Hawthorn Tree for Channel 4 and RTE.

In 2002 we set up the National Youth Film School to allow young people from all over Ireland and abroad to spend five weeks shooting a major feature film for television.

Over 60 young people have attending the National Youth Film School and have made 3 feature films. In 2005 the school will run from Monday 11 th July to Friday 12 th August.

Young Irish Film Makers run weekend Film Workshops for young people living Kilkenny, or anywhere in the Leinster or Munster area. Kilkenny is easily accessible by road, train or bus.

Wherever you live in Ireland you can contact our Outreach Team to run a film workshop or help you set up a youth film making in your area.

You can contact us by telephone at +353 56 7764677 or via email by clicking here or using our contact form.

We are funded by the Arts Council of Ireland (logo/link)
