The Youth Film Outreach Programme was created to train workers and leaders responsible for running youth programmes in Rapid and other disadvantaged areas in all aspects of youth film making and digital production skills.
The objective of the programme was to provide access to and participation in film making for young people through the design of an innovative youth film making programmes for young people in disadvantaged areas. The programme is designed to be delivered through youth leaders in local Family Resource Centres, community development and community health organisations. Trainers are from Young Irish Film Makers.
Youth workers and leaders are encouraged to use volunteers (particularly senior members) to deliver their film making programme. The young people are the focus of the programme, leaders and adult volunteers are only involved in the delivery of the training, supervision and support.
