Young Irish Film Makers

This week the camera class were told to make a photo essay which could be turned into a documentary. This was to contrast the difference between shooting stills and cinematography as well as introducing them to world of non dramatic film making.

The best ideas that we came across were James Dorans idea about Grafitti in Kilkenny and Raindrops by Lukas Harman. The last two will be shot over mid term on Film Makers cameras.

I also shot two films one of the subject of Homework and the other on Obesity. These were done to show the importance of cutaways and how to shoot interviews. By taking these simple subjects it demonstrated how a good cameraman can make anything interesting by shooting it in a visually dynamic way. Camera movement, lens shifting and variety of angles were all used to make more interesting shots.

DREAMSTUFF AUDITIONS HAVE BEEN MOVED TO MON THE 18TH AND WED 20TH 7-9PM

Tuesday 4-6 Junior Drama
Wednesday 4.30-6.30 Senior Drama
Thursday – 4.30-6.30 Advance Acting (Audition only)
Friday 4.30-6.30 Senior Drama

Technical Classes  will start back Friday 4.30-6.30 and will be split for weeks after this.

Auditions for Dreamstuff Youth Theatres latest production will be taking place Saturday the 16th of Jan 3.30-6.30.

Please note that rehearsals for Dreamstuff will no longer be Tuesday and Thursdays it will now be Monday and Wednesdays nights (this may be changed depending on availability of people cast)
